CALM Art
Creative Alpha-wave Lessons for Mindfulness.
What does that mean and why is it important?
Cognitive thinking is the mental process we use to comprehend information before deciding what it means and whether or how to act on it. The process is served best by an open, uncluttered mind.- not always easy to achieve in a fast-moving world where information comes to us 24/7 from myriad sources. It’s easy to react too quickly, overthink, or
over-worry the process.
That’s where CALM Art comes to the rescue.
Through meditative art practices, you can rest your mind.
Not an artist? Not a problem! CALM Art guides and mindful practices are designed to enable artists and creatives of all levels to express their unique inner dialogue while enhancing their equally unique inner artist.
During my journey with cancer, I began a combination of mindful and guided meditation. While others speak of seeing something in their mind’s eye,” I wanted to visualize my healing process and began painting white blood cells and creating wellness paintings to help my healing journey.
I had seen art help others, not only calm their mind but help with their healing. I had an advantage. I was already an artist so had both supplies and knowledge. In addition to my creative projects, I joined an art therapy group which provided a dedicated time for art exploration while expressing emotions and working through frustrations.
When you are constantly on the go, overthinking, and being stressed out your brain stays in Gamma and Beta wavelengths. Too much of this can keep you from getting good sleep and prevent you from relaxing. Your brain needs to reset and to do that you need to get into Alpha waves.
Art and the creative process puts your mind in the alpha wavelengths. This essentially resets your mind and helps to reduce the stress of life.
Through art, we can find ways to express our views.
We have a variety of logo merchandise, stickers, hats, t-shirts, journals, aprons, and more.
